Beijing, November 29, 2017 / PRNewswire / - Today, the Fringe Computing Industry Summit 2017 is held in Beijing. This industry summit aims to explore all aspects of cutting-edge computing frontier technology, to demonstrate the innovative application of edge computing, aggregation edge computing industry ecology, and promote the rapid development of edge computing industry. As a founding member and co-sponsor, Intel not only shared how edge computing drives future IoT change and how artificial intelligence enables edge computing, but Intel also demonstrated research on the edge computing test bed at the Institute of Automation, Results.

At the Edge Computing Industry Alliance Summit, Dr Zhang Yu, CTO of Intel's China Internet of Things Division, shared how smarting at the edge of the network is one of the key areas driving data floods and also the future of the Internet of Things trend. With the development of artificial intelligence in full swing, massive data needs to be analyzed and extracted quickly and effectively, which greatly enhances the demand for edge computing.

Dr. Zhang Yu emphasized that the trend toward load consolidation on the edge is an inevitable trend of the Internet of Things. The original load on different devices will be more and more integrated by virtualization and other technologies into a single high-performance computing platform to achieve a comprehensive and complex functions, each of the functional subsystems can share the device to provide The computing, storage, network and other resources, but also has some independence, to avoid mutual influence, which can simplify the system architecture and reduce the overall system. At the same time, load consolidation actually provides the conditions for the implementation of edge computation and the implementation of artificial intelligence. The integrated device is both a sink node for edge data and a hub for edge control, providing edge intelligence with the data it needs to process it while also providing a control entry point. Therefore, Intel believes that the combination of artificial intelligence and load consolidation will occur in future systems of edge computing.
